Ben and I experienced NYC for the 1st time together for our annual Anniversary trip! We loved every minute that we spent in "The Big Apple!" I can't believe it has already been 2 years...2 amazing years! Congrats to us!

Friday: We arrived mid day and check into our hotel. It didn't take long for me to say..."Let's get out of here and start exploring!" It was love at first site for me! I told Ben I was ready to move to New York...he was not to thrilled about that comment. It was everything I ever imagined it would be and more...I can't wait to go back!

Our first stop was Serendipity III - "Serendipity" is my favorite movie, so this was a MUST-DO on our agenda!

Snow In NC!

This winter has been CRAZY! This is the 3rd time its snowed in NC this year. We have about 6 inches on the ground. The dogs were very unsure about it at first but enjoyed playing in it later in the day!

Christmas with the Thompson's

We spent Christmas in Dallas and Janesville this year! We experienced the first White Christmas in Dallas in a LONG time! We visited our family in Waxahachie, TX and then it was off to the Boone Ranch for Christmas Day. It took us 6 hours (normally it is 2) to get to the ranch due to the winter conditions on the roads, I-20 was completely shut down so we experienced the back roads. Then off to Wisconsin to see Ben's family!

Catching Up...

I have been horrible catching up on this thing! Ben and I just promised to keep up with the updates! So...back to November we go...
MAUI, HAWAII
FRIDAY
Ben, Myself, Dave (Ben's friend growing up), and his gf Ashley all made the VERY long flight to Hawaii the day after Thanksgiving. It was amazingly gorgeous and I decided I want to live there! We stayed in Honolulu the first night. We toured the area and had dinner at the Hilton Hawaiian Village over looking the beautiful sunset. Then straight to bed...I could barely stay awake at dinner.

SATURDAY

We flew out of Honolulu bright and early and over to Maui to meet Dave and Ashley. We rented an adorable Red Jeep Wrangler. It was such a good choice over the small Sebring convertible. We drove over to the Kannapali Beach area directly from the airport, which takes about 30 minutes. This is actually the route for the Maui Marathon if anyone had heard about that race. It is marked in my calendar for the future! We checked into the Kannapali Beach Resort - thanks to Dave's cousin who owns a timeshare there. The hotel was beautiful! The guys went grocery shopping and Ash and I hit the pool!

SUNDAY/MONDAY

We soaked in the sun, pool, ocean, and sights for two days straight! It was so relaxing!

TUESDAY

Shopping Day!!! We traveled down to the city of LaHaina and shopped along the water. We also stopped and had lunch at Cheeseburger in Paradise (The Orginial)...possibly the best burger ever!

WEDNESDAY

We took a catameran out into the pacific on wednesday to go snorkeling. Now as some may know...I'm am very scared of the ocean. But - I did get in and actually snorkeled for about 25 minutes...Ben was so impressed! We looked at the beautiful coral and also shared the swim with a large number of sea turtles. They were so awesome to watch!

THURSDAY

This day was LONG...and we expected it would be but we did the ROAD TO HANA on Thursday. We left Kannapali at 8:00am and didn't return back until 7:00pm. During the week, we had heard thta we needed to pick up the CD that guides you through the Road To Hana and also gives you detours and sights that you would have never known about it you didn't have the CD! It might have been a $25 CD - but it was well worth it! I have added the pictures below...

Ben and I at the first stop

The twisty and very narrow road

Halfway...Here we bought fresh coconut and banana bread

one of the hidden waterfalls

We had lunch here and watched the huge waves come in

Black Sand Beach

Packers Fan In Hawaii

The last waterfall

Swimming in the waterfall - it was FREEZING!

7 Pools of Wonder

The road on the other side of Hana - steep cliffs right on the ocean!

SATURDAY
We flew back to Honolulu for the University of Wisconsin v. University of Hawaii Football game!

SUNDAY
Ben and I went to the Pearl Harbor Memorial on Sunday, Dec 6th (the day before the anniversary of Peral Harbor). Then flew out back to NC later Sunday evening.
It was a GREAT trip to HAWAII! Can't wait to go back!

Wisconsin Visit

Ben and I decided to make a trip up to WI to visit everyone this past weekend since we will not be back until christmas! Other than getting stuck in Memphis (thanks delta!) friday night the trip was great! We arrived in Madison about an hour before the Badger game, just in time to make a quick tailgate stop and walk to the game! Great win for the Badgers!! It was a little cold but as always my family from up north clothes me extremely well! I think I had on like 5 layers, haha! We spent the evening with the girls (Emma and Bella) for Halloween. Emma was an adorable cowgirl and Bella a ladybug....so cute! (Pics to come) We had a great trip and can't wait to see everyone again at Christmas!!
